Building on a legacy

Our Story
As a 3rd generation horticulturalist and landscaper the premise for Arcadian landscapes started way before I was born. With a horticultural legacy dating back nearly 100 years which started with my grandfather growing cut flowers and vegetables that supplied the local village. My father followed him into the industry and naturally so did I working for my dad.
With the skills and knowledge passed through the generations, I decided to set out by myself and create my own business. After a few iterations we have finally created Arcadian Landscapes ltd (and now my dad works for me).
Chris
After working for his dad in his spare time whilst training in carpentry and joinery. Chris decided to merge his passion and his profession and study horticulture at college. At the last minute he decided to study garden design instead. He went on to receive a BA (Hons) in garden design from the university of greenwich where he was able to study under some of the industry leaders. Once he graduated he went on to subcontract his design skills, this gave him a good insight into the industry but he felt constrained and not able to use his design skills to their full potential.
He went on to form Chris Davis Garden Design Ltd based in Surrey in 2017 and set out working on his own designs for his own clients. As the business has developed we became Arcadian Landscapes Ltd.
Chris’s design philosophy is elegance in nature, simplicity and sustainability. We must all have an environment conscience.

Claire
Claire joined Arcadian Landscapes in 2021 after 20 years in childcare. Like many people the pandemic affected her career and she decided that she wanted a change
Despite what she may tell you Claire is the life-force that holds together Arcadian landscapes. With her Fantastic organisation skills she runs the office and keeps Chris on the straight and narrow. With a passion for flowers and photography you will often see her on site with Chris capturing images for our social media.
Family
Family is the backbone of our business and our daughter Freya plays a key role despite only being 4 and half. She loves to get involved with all aspects of Arcadian from designing to planting. (We’re hoping she will be the 4th generation to follow in horticulture) even though currently she wants to be a unicorn.
